Reunion

16 mm, 26 min. 1995

When a high school reunion of my then wife Marlan turned out to coincide with mine, we pitched the idea of comparing them to Chuck Workman. He agreed to produce the project.  So off we went, one crew to Florida, another to Poland…

Reunion is an insightful documentary by Pawel Kuczynski, Marlan Warren and Oscar’s favorite film editor Chuck Workman. By comparing and contrasting two different (and yet oddly similar) high school reunions – a Polish man’s in Poland and his American wife’s in Florida – the movie is a bittersweet commentary on cultural boundaries and how we transcend them.
